Malcolm X at the Met
Kazem Abdullah, who studied German and Portuguese at the Language Schools, is conducting the Metropolitan Opera premiere of X: The Life and Times of Malcolm X.
Abdullah explained the different musical genres reflected in the newly revised score—as well as his path to the conductor’s podium—in interviews with NY1 and Dayton.com.

Abdullah studied Portuguese in the Summer 2009 and German in the summers of 2010 and 2011.
