Level Descriptions
Abenaki will offer Level 1 for beginners as well as a more advanced level for the Abenaki speaking community. The program enrolls a diverse mix of students ranging from current undergraduates to retirees.
Level 1: Beginning Abenaki
This course sequence is designed for students with no previous instruction or functional ability in Abenaki. Students are exposed to intensive instruction to develop their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
Courses are designed to familiarize students with the rich Abenaki literature tradition and use a wide range of traditional and contemporary games, dances, and other group activities.
