Adi Raz is currently the co-director of the School of Hebrew at Middlebury College and the director of the Modern Hebrew Language program at the University of Michigan. A native of Israel who also spent part of her upbringing in the United States, Raz holds an Ed.D in Jewish Education from the Jewish Theological Seminary, with a specialization in teaching Hebrew to students with language learning disabilities, an Ed.M in Applied Linguistics from Teacher’s College, Columbia University, an MA in TESOL from Hunter College, and a BA from Bar Ilan University, in English Literature and Linguistics. 

At Michigan, Raz teaches all levels of Hebrew, and specializes in creating, and teaching advanced content courses in Hebrew. When time permits, Raz also teaches courses in English on Israeli culture. Raz has been involved in several grants such as the Andrew Mellon, Less Commonly Taught Languages grant at MSU, and several internal grants from the University of Michigan to create new curriculum and pedagogies. Raz often collaborates on these grants with other languages such as Persian, Turkish, Armenian, Yiddish, Ladino, South Asian languages, and Modern Greek.
