Haviland (Havi) Johannesson-Forgit grew up moving around the country as the daughter of two artists. Her studies have always been based in the performing arts, primarily American modern dance with a focus on the African diaspora influence and classical ballet. 10 years ago, she made the transition from teaching dance and performing professionally to working in linguistics at the Language Schools. Over the years she has worked in multiple aspects of the Language Schools for all thirteen languages, knowing that she would eventually want to work directly with one school. At a young age, she developed a deep love for the history of ancient Latin cultures and continues her research in Mesoamerican studies as a passion. Havi (as the Language Schools knows her), is very invested in the immersion aspect of the School of Spanish and truly enjoys the experience of knowing the staff, teachers and above all, students within the school on a personal level. Her personal interests and passions include the arts (audio, visual, performance), and working towards accommodating a community of diverse learning styles in higher education and increasing the acceptance of learners from every race, gender, culture, social background, and beyond.
