Application Update

The German School is no longer still accepting applications.

The German School 6-week Elementary through Advanced Online Program and 6-week Graduate Online Program will include:

  • Synchronous classes and co-curricular activities; additional asynchronous learning opportunities will be built into the curriculum.
  • A wide range of co-curricular activities. Mandatory participation: at least 2 hours/ week. (Pronunciation club, Reader’s Theater, Yoga, Discussion groups, Cooking/ Baking Club, Movie club, Radio club, etc.)

  • 5:00 p.m. EDT (Co-curricular activities begin)


  • Level 1: Elementary German
  • Level 1.5: Early Intermediate German
  • Level 2: Intermediate German
  • Level 3: Advanced German I
  • Level 4: Advanced German II

  • Monday–Friday
  • All classes meet for (at least) 250 minutes/week
  • Advanced German Grammar and Stylistics
  • Fin de Siècle Vienna
  • Digital Pedagogies in Language Education
  • Contemporary German Literature - Literary Reflections on the Fall of the Wall

Additional Information

  • Electronic check-in and orientation sessions are scheduled prior to the start of classes.
  • Please see additional information on our Accepted Student website.
  • Levels and courses offered will be based on meeting course enrollments. Enrollment is capped to ensure high quality instruction. Please apply early to secure a spot. Should it become necessary to cancel a course/program or cap the enrollment, we will notify students and refund the deposit.
