How to Apply for Funding

Process 

Apply for funding through MiddApply. See the MiddApply FAQs to learn about the application platform. Email Colleen Norden (cnorden@middlebury.edu) with MiddApply issues. 

Applications require multiple components (including project descriptions, budgets, faculty endorsement, etc.), and reviewed by committee or designee. 

Carefully review How to Build a Budget and Eligible Expenses page for details about allowed expenses before submitting your undergraduate research application. Talk with Dean Lisa Gates in advance with questions - schedule an appointment with her at go/meet.

Projects are not eligible for funding from multiple Undergraduate Research funds. Decisions about funding awards generally take up to 2 weeks from submission or application deadline. It is the student’s responsibility to understand the application process and details and consult Dean Gates with questions prior to application submission. Research projects must be discussed and reviewed by faculty advisors prior to application submission.
