Additional Requirements
In addition to the general application requirements, applicants to the Korean Graduate Program must complete the following:
- Online application
- Short answer questions (200 words total in English):
- Your formal and informal experience with the language, including travel, study, or residence abroad
- How you learned about Middlebury’s programs
- Your reasons for wanting to study the language you have chosen
- Your career goals
- Any additional information that you consider relevant to your application
- Application Fee
- Official Transcripts
- Three Recommendation Letters
- Short answer questions (200 words total in English):
- For non-native speakers of English
- BA (or equivalent) from regionally accredited institution or interview with Korean faculty designated by our director.
- For Non-Native Speakers of Korean
- A recent college major in Korean or a minimum ACTFL OPI score of Advanced Low is required. Applicants may either submit an official OPI score from ACTFL or take our on-line computer adaptive test, as well as a follow-up speaking test with a Korean faculty member designated by our director.
- Writing Sample
- A one-page statement of purpose in both Korean and English, with a description of your educational background, your experience with Korean and your objectives for choosing this program.
- Please upload one document in both Korean and English in the Writing Sample section of the online application.
