Ying Zhang, a student in the Middlebury Language Schools’ Master’s in Chinese degree program, was notified that her Chinese Program at Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, Tennessee has been selected as one of the 16 programs across the US to receive the 2024 CLTA Distinguished K-12 Chinese Program.

Zhang was awarded the certificate at the Chinese Language Teachers Association (CLTA) annual conference in April in St. Louis.

Cecilia Chang, Director of the Chinese School, said “This is a fantastic achievement for Ying Zhang, and the entire Middlebury Chinese School community.”

The Chinese School offers an 8-week Summer Immersion program for beginner to advanced students. The Chinese School also has a Master in Chinese focusing specifically on Teaching Chinese as a Second Language and is designed for current teachers of Chinese or those who wish to teach Chinese as a foreign language.
