Application Update

The School of French online program is now full, and we are no longer accepting applications.

The School of French 7-week online program and 6-week graduate online program include:

  • Synchronous class times as well as outside asynchronous activities.
  • A wide range of activities (students will be expected to participate in at least 2 per week).
  • Additional preparatory coursework and practice exercises outside of class time.

7-Week Online Program

Dates and Fees

Dates June 20–August 7 (7 weeks)
Credits 9 semester hours (3 Middlebury units)
Tuition and Fees $6,600
  • Welcome, orientation, class placement and language pledge will take place on June 20 and 22. Classes start June 22.

Hours 3 hours a day
Time Block (Level 1,2,3)  11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.; 1:30–3:00 p.m. EDT
Time Block (Level 4) 11:00–12:00 p.m.; 12:15–1:15 p.m.; 2:00–3:00 p.m. EDT

  • Level 1: Beginning French
  • Level 2: Early Intermediate
  • Level 3: Intermediate French
  • Level 4: Advanced French

6-Week Graduate Online Program

  • Levels and courses offered will be based on meeting course enrollments. Enrollment is capped to ensure high quality instruction. Please apply early to secure a spot. Should it become necessary to cancel a course/program or cap the enrollment, we will notify students and refund the deposit.
