The Galen Hoskin ’87 Family Fund is designed to support advanced, in-country research in areas of the world that are either developing as nations, or where conditions are experiencing rapid societal, political or other fundamental change. The Hoskin fund is not applicable to projects focused on the US

For AY 2020-21: expenses up to $1,200 are reimbursed and must occur after your application is approved. Because no travel will be supported this year, you must be able to demonstrate how you will investigate your proposed topic without in-country research. If you are already located in the country that is the focus of your research and you anticipate limited regional travel, please discuss with us by emailing in advance.

Deadline: October 1, January 22 or April 15 (reviewed with Senior Research Project Supplement applications)

Submit a Senior Research Project Supplement application and indicate you would like to be considered for the Hoskin Fund.

To be considered you need to include an additional paragraph explaining how your target research country fits the country definition in the overview. In the budget please list full project expenses as the cap may be flexible depending on availability of funds.

Eligible projects need to meet country criteria and represent a capstone project such as a senior thesis or senior project. Funding will be awarded on the basis of the quality of the application and the availability of funds.

Please refer to the Senior Research Project Supplement (SRPS) guidelines for the reimbursement process.
