The academic opportunities at Middlebury are rich and nearly limitless. There are more than 45 departments and programs which offer majors and minors. In addition, a number of interdisciplinary centers enrich the curriculum through a wide range of programs, lectures, and events.
The distinctive Middlebury academic calendar also amplifies the flexibility of the curriculum. During the 13-week fall and spring semesters, students typically enroll in four courses. During the 4-week winter term in January, students may take a single intensive course, do an internship, or conduct independent projects.
