Why did you choose to attend Middlebury?  I came from a very international environment, having attended United World College Costa Rica, and so was worried about a sudden culture shock coming to the United States. However, the international alumni from Middlebury that I spoke to shared stories that underscored a different experience, highlighting how diverse and welcoming the campus is for international students. This sense of community was a major draw for me. Lots of us UWC kids! Besides, if people can wear socks in sandals here then truly everyone is welcome.

Additionally, I’m passionate about outdoor activities, particularly long-distance running as I train for marathons, and winter sports, from snowboarding to sledding. Middlebury’s wealth of natural surroundings truly encourages these interests. Lastly, their incredible financial aid made it possible for me to attend, which was a decisive factor in my choice. I have lots to be grateful for.

Favorite study spot? Axinn reading nooks in Abernathy, Davis 2nd floor tables, Mahaney Café downstairs, the Green Room

Favorite food in the dining hall? Ravioli Cannelloni , Trusty ol’ Bagel, and the huge oranges!

Where did you study abroad, or where would you study abroad if you could? I attended Semester at Sea, and the CCI sponsored my summer internship in South Africa. Both were unforgettable. Now, I am learning French, so if I could study abroad again, I would go to Cameroon, or maybe Portiers.

Favorite Vermont spot? Shelburne farms, the Trail Around Middlebury (TAM), anywhere with beavers, Falls of Lana when the water is ice cold, the back side of the Snowbowl, the ridiculously big yellow chair at Marble Works, Vergennes during Christmas.

One fun fact about you or unknown talent you have:  I hold the Guinness World Record for fastest marathon in a kangaroo costume.
