Hey there! My name is Christopher and I come from a small town in northern New York called Ticonderoga. I grew up coming to Middlebury to buy groceries and get Indian food, never expecting to end up going to school here. As I started to fill out college applications a current Middlebury student encouraged me to apply, which is one of greatest decisions I’ve ever made. I am now double majoring in International Politics & Economics and German on the Pre-Law track. I love to play music (particularly jazz) and play 4 instruments, but the drum set will always have my heart. I am involved in a variety of activities on campus from Yarn and Yap, a group that does fiber arts and has sweet treats every week, to Log Rolling, a group that practices running on logs in the natatorium. Our campus is perfect for learning new skills and discovering different cultures.
Feel free to reach out to me about any questions you may have about Middlebury!
Why did you choose to attend Middlebury?
Coming from a small rural town I knew that I needed a place where I could feel at home, see people I knew on my walk to class, and feel like not just a statistic. Middlebury was just that for me, it’s a place where I never fail to know someone in my class or have someone to eat dinner with. I chose Middlebury for its culture of inclusivity and thanks to this community, Midd has become my home away from home.
Fun Fact
A fun fact about me is that I used to work at an 18th century museum making and repairing leather shoes by hand.
Any tips for incoming students to help them make the most out of their Middlebury experience?
To me making the most of your time at Middlebury means participating. There are hundreds of different groups and activities to partake in throughout the year and some of the most fun I’ve had at Midd has come from responding to random Instagram stories for things like handing out candy at our president’s house on Halloween.
