French and Francophone Studies

Edward Knox is a professor emeritus of French. He served the college in many positions, including Vice President for Academic Affairs, Vice President for Foreign Languages, Acting President, and Director of the School in France.

He has published Jean de La Bruyère, Patterns of Person: Studies in Style and Form  from Corneille to Laclos, Plus ça change: La France entre hier et demain (with Huguette Knox), and several other books.

His current research is on American writing about Italy.
