Edward C. Knox is College professor emeritus of French. He taught courses in French language, literature and culture, and published several books, articles and reviews in those areas. His final article was “What Is It about France?” (2015).

He also served the college in many administrative positions, including Vice President for Academic Affairs, Vice President for Foreign Languages, Acting President, and Director of the School in France.

In recognition of his service the college created in 2012 the Edward C. Knox Chair in International Studies.
