Meghan Leathers is a professional actor and educator, working in film, television and theatre. She most recently performed in the dark comedy Bad Shabbos, opposite Jon Bass and Kyra Sedgwick. She played the fan favorite role of ‘Pam’ in Apple TV’s first original series For all Mankind, in which she starred for four seasons. She also starred in the AMC multi-cam/single cam hybrid series Kevin Can F**k Himself opposite Annie Murphy and Raymond Lee, Netflix’s PARTNER TRACK, and Adam McKay’s Netflix feature Don’t Look Up opposite Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence. Her regional theatre work includes The Huntington Theatre, Trinity Repertory, Theatre at Monmouth, Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse and Potomac Theatre Project. In her teaching, she specializes in voice and speech and audition techniques. She holds her BA from Middlebury College and her MFA from Brown University/Trinity Rep, where she was the recipient of the Lotta Theatrical Fund.

Course Description

Acting I: Beginning Acting
Rigorous physical and psychophysical exercises attempt to break through the cultural and psychological barriers that inhibit an open responsiveness to impulses, to the environment, and to others. Attempt is made to free personal response within improvised scenes and, eventually, within the narrative structure of a naturalistic scene. Attention is given to various theories of acting technique. Students are expected to audition for departmental shows. (First- and second-year students only) 3 hrs. lect./individual labs
