Nadia Vossoughi

Nadia Vossoughi is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Middlebury College. She received a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Kansas and a Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Michigan. 

Dr. Vossoughi’s research focuses on intergroup relations. In one line of research, Dr. Vossoughi examines what drives individuals to engage in collective action and form cross-group alliances that challenge the status quo. In a second line of research, she examines the consequences of inequitable environments, particularly within academic and workplace settings. Throughout her research program, she considers how social identities, sociopolitical ideologies, and social contexts shape group interactions. Dr. Vossoughi’s research employs a range of methodological tools—including laboratory and online experiments, surveys, and observational methods—and actively involves undergraduate students at every stage of the research process.
