Ronnie Romano is a versatile musician based in Vermont and New York City who works as a pianist, organist, conductor, and educator. Primarily focused on choral music and community building, he serves as Director of Music at All Souls Interfaith Gathering (Shelburne, VT) and the Champlain Valley Unitarian Universalist Society (Middlebury, VT). He also serves as Music Director for the Wellspring Hospice Singers (Middlebury, VT). Beginning in the Fall of 2022, he will serve a one-year appointment as Interim Director of the Middlebury College Choir.

In addition to his church and teaching work, Ronnie is a seasoned conductor and music director of musical theater. Highlights include the Off-Broadway production “Brecht on Brecht,” as well as many J-term Musicals at Town Hall Theater in Middlebury. Ronnie has also served as a regular guest pianist with the Opera Company of Middlebury, with whom he performed live on Vermont Public Radio this past spring. Since 2017, he has been the Administrator of The Choral Chameleon Institute for Composers and Conductors where he mentors emerging composers and conductors and teaches Ear Training.

Ronnie holds a bachelor’s degree in Music and Mandarin Chinese from Middlebury College. He has studied with Vince Peterson, Mark Shapiro, Philip Lasser, David Conte, and Jeff Buettner. He also studied in Paris at La Schola Cantorum through EAMA, the European American Musical Alliance.
