Miled Faiza is an instructor of Arabic at Wayne State University where he also is pursuing an M.A. in Near Eastern Languages. In 2005 he was awarded the Asmaa Jamil Endowed Fund Scholarship in recognition of his outstanding scholastic achievement in Near Eastern Studies. He earned a B.A. in Arabic Language and Literature at the College of Liberal Arts, Universite du Centre in Sousse, Tunisia in 1998. He published a book of Arabic poetry entitled The Remains of a House We Once Entered in 2004. He taught Arabic literature in secondary schools in Monastir, Tunisia (1998-1999). Since 1995 he has been working as a freelance writer for a number of major Arabic newspapers such as Azzaman, Alphinic, Alquds, Alhayat Athaqafia, and Forum & Link. His current research interests include modern Arabic and French literature, Arabic culture, history of North Africa, and Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language (TAFL).
