Suzan Wali has taught at Middlebury College, the University of Texas, and the University of New Orleans. At the University of New Orleans, she was a Fulbright scholar and taught three levels of Modern Standard Arabic. Additionally, she supervised two student instructors for the first-year Arabic course, designed the tests for the Arabic program, organized Arabic cultural events, and mentored instructors of other languages (Russian, Korean, and Portuguese). At the University of Texas she also was a Fulbright scholar, and as an Arabic instructor at Middlebury College, she developed different strategies for teaching Arabic according to diverse student needs. She has taught Arabic as a second language to American students from a variety of backgrounds.
