The Brandeis Middlebury Connection:
By combining the expertise of the two institutions The School of Hebrew is able to provide students with the best of both worlds: Brandeis University has experienced Hebrew language educators who offer Hebrew language courses at all levels on topics such as literature, art, theater, cinema, and linguistics. In addition, Brandeis University, the leading modern Hebrew language program in the country for more than a decade, has recently published its own textbook based on the Hebrew-in-Hebrew Method. Brandeis Modern Hebrew, of which the Director of the School is the principal author, has become the core text for teaching Hebrew in many institutions in the U.S.
Middlebury, on the other hand, is known for intensive langauge immersion and the Language Pledge®, whereby students at the Language Schools formally promise to communicate with each other solely through the language they chose to study. “No English Spoken Here” is the mantra of the Middlebury Language Schools, and everyone in the Language Schools—students, faculty, and staff—lives by it.
The Middlebury Method of top notch langauge immersion and the expertise of the Brandeis Hebrew faculty combine to make for an incredible langauge experience
