Carmen de la Guardia
, from Spain, received her PhD from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid where she currently serves as Professor in the Contemporary History Departament. She has taught in a variety of American university programs in Spain. A specialist in cultural and political history she in now researching and has published articles on the cultural relationship between the U.S. and Spain. Her books include

Professor de la Guardia has received numerous fellowships (Fulbright, Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, Fundación Caja de Madrid), which allowed her to conduct research at the John Carter Brown Library, the Columbia University Rare Book and Manuscript Library and the New School for Social Research.
