Concepción Company Company
Concepción Company Company was born in Madrid, Spain, and lives in Mexico since 1975. Since 1978 she has Mexican nationality. She is full professor at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Her areas of research are Spanish historical syntax, linguistic variation and theory of language change, philology and grammaticalization. She is the author of 6 books, editor of 24, and more than 60 articles and chapters in books. She has published in journals such as Studies in Language, Romance Philology, Verba, Lingua, Revista de Filología Española, Nueva Revista de Filología Española, Lexis, Anuario de Letras, etc. She has taught and given lectures in various universities from Spain, Argentina, USA, Uruguay, and France. She is member of the Academia Mexicana de la Lengua, correspondent to the Real Academia Española. She is the director of the international project, Sintaxis histórica de la Lengua Española (México: Fondo de Cultura Económica and Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, 4 volumes, 2006, 2009).
