Heather Quarles, born and raised on the beautiful and rugged Oregon coast, has been teaching language courses at the University of Oregon since she graduated from there with her Masters six years ago. She earned her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Spanish with a focus on Hispanic-Jewish Literature, which she learned to love while living in Argentina during her student years. Although she is happiest in her native state she also enjoys getting out and experiencing other worlds. For the past three summers she has made her home teaching here at the Spanish School in pastoral Vermont and spent this past Winter and Spring in beautiful colonial Querétaro, Mexico leading a study abroad program for the University of Oregon. She is a pround veteran of the Middlebury Principiantes team and eagerly anticipates meeting a new batch of students daring enough to take on first-year Spanish at the Middlebury Spanish School!
