Francisco Layna
Francisco Layna, of Spain, received his Licenciatura in Journalism (1976-1981) from the Universidad Complutense, and his Ph.D. in Hispanic Philology (febr. 1994) from the University Complutense. He has taught at Harvard University and Boston University, and United Sates university programs in Madrid (Boston University, New York University). He is currently a professor with Middlebury College's program in Madrid, where he teaches in both the graduate and undergraduate programs. Professor Layna has published a variety of research works on Spanish literature of the XV, XVI and XVII Centuries. He has published two books, La eficacia del fracaso. Representaciones culturales en la Segunda Parte del Quijote and La disputa burlesca as well as numerous articles in specialized journals. At present he is finishing his third book which he directs, coordinates, and edits: USA Cervantes: 39 cervantistas en los Estados Unidos.
