Mariano Gómez-Aranda, from Spain, received his Ph.D. from Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 1992. He is a Tenured Scientist at the Spanish High Council for Scientific Research (CSIC). He has been a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Hebrew Union College in New York. He has taugh at Syracuse University, and at New York University in Madrid. From 1989 to present, he has participated in six research projects financed by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science. He has supervised four research projects from 1998 to present. He is member of the Editorial Board of Sefarad and of the Advisor Editorial Board of Miscelánea de Estudios Árabes y Hebreos. He has participated in evaluation committees in universities and centers of research in Spain and the USA. His areas of expertise include critical editions and studies of medieval Hebrew texts on exegesis, philosophy and science. He has published several books on Biblical exegesis and Jewish science, such as El comentario de Abraham ibn Ezra al libro de Job and Sefarad científica: la visión judía de la ciencia en la Edad Media, as well as numerous articles in specialized journals.
