In honor of the 100th anniversary of the founding of Middlebury’s first summer Language School, Ted and Kathy O’Connor Truscott, members of the Class of 1983, will match gifts made to the Language Schools up to a total of $350,000. Ted attended the Chinese School, while Kathy spent a semester in Madrid through the Schools Abroad. Join them in celebrating the centennial by making a gift now.

Middlebury Launches Bread Loaf Translators’ Conference

A new conference in the style of the renowned Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference will highlight the important role that literary translators of poetry and prose play in the U.S. and elsewhere. Read more.

Online Community Open to Language Schools Alumni

Middlebury has enhanced its online community with an expanded array of tools to help you stay connected both personally and professionally. The new online community includes Language Schools alumni, as well as alumni of Middlebury College, the Bread Loaf School of English, Schools Abroad, and the Monterey Institute of International Studies.

Meet the 2013 Fellows for Peace Alumni

Established in 2007 by the late Kathryn Wasserman Davis, the Fellows for Peace program challenges Middlebury College and the Monterey Institute of International Studies to use their combined expertise in language acquisition and policy studies to recruit and train peacemakers. Learn about the work of current and former Kathryn Davis Fellows and apply now if you are interested in a fellowship.

Middlebury-Monterey Language Academy

Do you have or know of children in grades 8–12 who would be interested in learning a language or improving their language fluency next summer? More than 4,600 middle and high school students have made remarkable progress learning Spanish, French, German, Chinese, and Arabic through the Middlebury-Monterey Language Academy, operated by Middlebury Interactive Languages. At two sites in Vermont and three campuses abroad, students spend four weeks studying in a fun and supportive environment.
