Middlebury Announces Kress Foundation Fellowship for Graduate Students of Art History
April 18, 2012
Middlebury College is pleased to announce the Kress Fellowships for language study, made possible by a generous gift from the Samuel H. Kress Foundation. Five fellowships are offered in summer 2010 for graduate students of art history to attend one of four Language Schools: French, German, Italian, orSpanish.
The fellowships are intended for graduate students with a proposed focus on European art history, and preference will be given to those who have recently been accepted to or are currently enrolled in the requisite program at a Ph.D.-granting institution in the United States. In exceptional cases, advanced undergraduates in art history who are preparing for graduate study in the same field may also be considered. The fellowships cover the comprehensive fee (tuition, room, and board) at the Middlebury summer Language Schools; they are merit based and intended for exceptionally qualified individuals. Information regarding submissions and the online application can be found atgo.middlebury.edu/ls/kress.
