MMLA expands to eight sites for summer 2011 session

April 18, 2011

Now in its fourth year of programming, the Middlebury-Monterey Language Academy (MMLA) is a four-week, immersion-based language academy for students completing grades 7–12.  Modeled after Middlebury's acclaimed summer Language Schools, MMLA's goal is to provide its students with a high-quality, language immersion experience that combines a traditional classroom setting with project-based electives and cocurricular activities. Students in the academy completely immerse themselves in their language of study, committing to speak in only the target language for the duration of the program, both inside and outside the classroom.

Due to MMLA's continued success, the program has expanded from three to eight college campus locations around the United States. For summer 2011, MMLA will offer sessions in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian and Spanish on campuses in Vermont, California, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and South Carolina.
