  • Field Guide for English Students (Thursday, April 25th 2024, 4:30 pm - 6:15 pm EDT)

    When: Thursday, April 25th 2024, 4:30 pm - 6:15 pm EDT Location: Johnson Memorial Building, Johnson 204, Middlebury, Vermont, United States Connect with Midd alums at the English Field Guide. Presented by the Center for Careers and Internships and cosponsored by the English department, this Field Guide brings alumni back to campus to share knowledge and experience related to their post-Middlebury careers and professional lives with current students. On Thursday alumni join us for a panel discussion. Friday morning, our alumni guests have volunteered to hold one-on-one chats with students (Sign up in Handshake) Field Guides help students think broadly about where their academic work may lead them in a professional context by giving them the information they need to think critically about what they’ll do with their liberal arts major or degree after Middlebury.   • Summer CPT/Internship Fieldwork Course Enrollment Info Sessions-UG ONLY (Monday, April 29th 2024, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT)

    When: Monday, April 29th 2024, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT Location: Unknown Join International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) & the Center for Careers & Internships (CCI) for a discussion about U.S.-based summer internships and Curricular Practical Training (CPT) requirements. This session for UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS ONLY will focus on how to apply for enrollment in the Middlebury Institute’s summer fieldwork course (for CPT eligibility) and on the CPT authorization process and its many requirements. We will start with a brief overview of key points, followed by time for questions. The goal is to help you be prepared to make it happen. Please join us!

  • Mandatory Pre-Departure Internship Meeting for CCI-Funded and CCI-Sponsored Interns (Tuesday, May 7th 2024, 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT)

    When: Tuesday, May 7th 2024, 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT Location: McCullough - Student Center , Wilson Hall , 14 Old Chapel Rd, Middlebury, Vermont 05753, United States "This mandatory one-hour in-person training will provide information and resources for all students taking part in internships this summer that are funded or sponsored by the Center for Careers and Internships. Topics covered will include grant requirements, as well as resources and tips to help you prepare for and be successful in your internship. This session is required whether you are taking part in a remote, hybrid, or in-person internship. Attendance will be taken and those missing the session due to extenuating circumstances and conflicts (such as study abroad) must be excused by Cheryl Whitney Lower ahead of time. Any student who has not attended or been excused ahead of time will risk losing their funding. Please note: This session is required for all CCI-funded and sponsored interns; some interns may be required to attend additional program-specific trainings as well. Presented by CCI Staff. "

futureforward features several alumni and parents who are leaders in a variety of career fields, discussing their industry’s current environment, their perspective on the future outlook for that career field, and action steps students can take now to position themselves for entry into those career fields.

Live from DC

Live From DC is a live webinar designed to engage guest speakers in a number of career fields in discussions about topics of interest driven by current events, frequently having policy implications and an array of career opportunity dynamics.

MIDDVantage is a dynamic career exploration program that provides Middlebury students and alumni with the opportunity to gain exposure to different fields of interest. With the help of Middlebury alumni and industry experts, MIDDVantage offers valuable insights and perspectives to help individuals explore and pursue their career goals.
