New Student Onboarding Course

In this online course you’ll:

• Register for on-campus orientation events.
• Complete your housing application, so you can receive your housing and roommate information.
• Prepare for course registration, so you can register for courses.
• Learn about on-campus resources.
• Upload necessary documents and information., including assignments that cover registrations, uploading personal information, housing applications, as well as informational modules about important on-campus resources. These modules and corresponding assignments must be completed by the listed due dates and prior to your campus arrival.

Accessing Your Course

You’ll access the New Student Onboarding course through your Middlebury Canvas account. So set up your Middlebury Canvas account first. 

Once you receive an email to your Middlebury email address when the course is open for you to begin.  

• If you are arriving in the fall, you’ll receive your course enrollment link in mid-May.
• If you are arriving in the spring, you’ll receive your course enrollment link in mid-October. 

Starting the Course

• Log into your Canvas account and navigate to the New Student Onboarding course.
• Click on the modules tab on the left side of the Canvas page
• Click on Module 1: Course Overview and Navigation Video. This module will walk you through how to use the Canvas site.
• To submit a completed assignment, you must initial at the bottom of each page and submit once you have completed a task. 

Each module, and the tasks within the modules, will take time to review and complete. Please stay on track with completing your assignments by the due dates.

Due Dates

Most New Student Onboarding assignments are due on the first, 15th, or last day of each month leading up to the start of your New Student Orientation. You will find all the deadlines for all assignments within the course.
