Funding Application Planning

In planning your project or internship and seeking funding to support it, please make sure you are aware of the following important details. If you have questions, please ask the office offering the funding or contact us at uro@middlebury.edu.

Register Your Travel

Once your funding is confirmed, you must register your travel. Please note: travel to countries listed on the U.S. State Department Travel Warning List will be reviewed by the Global Operations Committee. If this proposed travel is not approved, funding for the trip will not be granted. Please discuss questions and travel details with the office supporting your project or internship proposal.

Taxable Funding

Funding received for your project or internship may be taxable. If you are a non-U.S. citizen, depending on your country of citizenship, you may have U.S. taxes withheld up front or when you submit receipts for reimbursement. The office funding your award can give you general information about the tax-status of this kind of funding, but please consult Middlebury’s tax office with specific questions.
