Why did you choose to attend Middlebury? I chose Middlebury because I wanted a place where I could explore both my academic interests and my identity in a meaningful way. As someone with a multicultural background, I was drawn to Middlebury’s strong international focus and its commitment to language learning, global engagement, and interdisciplinary study. I knew I wanted to study both Film and Economics, and Middlebury’s liberal arts structure gave me the flexibility to do both while still diving into political science and French.

Beyond academics, I was really looking for a community where I could be involved, whether that’s through student radio, the Black Student Union, debate, or working with Matriculate. Middlebury isn’t perfect, but its size means students can have a real impact. That mattered to me. I didn’t just want to go somewhere prestigious, I wanted to go somewhere I could grow, challenge the culture, and help build the kind of space I wish I had growing up.
