Neuroscience students have a variety of research opportunities available to them.

Students may choose to volunteer in faculty research labs, work as a paid research assistant, work as a summer research assistant, or enroll in independent research with a willing faculty mentor. Faculty labs are each unique in areas of interest and available opportunities vary.

Independent Study

Neuroscience majors wishing to pursue independent study, but who do not wish to write an honors thesis, should enroll in Independent Study (NSCI 0500; for non seniors) or Senior Research (NSCI 0700; seniors only) for one or more semesters.

Students wishing to enroll in NSCI 0500 or NSCI 0700, must have their topic approved in advance by the NSCI faculty member who will advise the project.
