Araceli was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, but Vermont’s small-town charm and inspiring natural beauty attracted her to Middlebury College. She graduated from Middlebury in 2021 with a degree in International and Global Studies with a focus on the Middle East, and a minor in History. Araceli strengthened her Arabic skills when she studied abroad during her junior year at Middlebury’s School in Amman, Jordan; it was this experience that inspired Araceli’s interest in researching labor migration patterns and their effects in Middle Eastern communities. Beyond the classroom, Araceli worked closely with Middlebury’s Center for Community Engagement leading orientation trips, served as a tour guide and tour guide coordinator in the admissions office, and sang with the Ingoma a cappella group. Understanding that she was afforded unique opportunities that led her to Middlebury, Araceli is especially passionate about helping students access academic resources and growth opportunities in higher education. When not in the office, Araceli can be found looking for delicious and quirky foodie spots around Vermont, listening to live music and theatre, and savoring every bite of Vermont’s apple cider donuts.
