Carolyn Orosz graduated from Middlebury in 2015 with a degree in English & American Literatures and went on to get a Master of Fine Arts in Poetry from University of Wisconsin-Madison where she taught English and Creative Writing. She then spent several years working in outdoor education throughout the Western U.S., most recently as a staff leader for the Wyoming Women’s Wildland Fire Crew. She has led trail crews in Vermont, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, and Maine. Her work in conservation and outdoor education has led to a passion for environmental justice, having witnessed firsthand the effects of climate change on the landscape and local communities.

She moved back to Middlebury from Northern California last year with her husband, toddler and three chickens. In addition to working in the admissions office she currently serves as a poetry reader for The New England Review.
