Assistant Professor of Psychology
The Psychology Department invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position in Cultural or Community Psychology beginning fall 2026. Middlebury College has a long-standing commitment to global education and promoting change as evidenced by our immersive summer language programs, our extensive schools abroad, and the Conflict Transformation Collaborative. Accordingly, we seek a colleague whose research and teaching focus on understanding diverse populations and the influences of culture on human behavior, globally and/or domestically. While the area of specialization is open, we are particularly interested in someone who could broaden and diversify our existing course and research offerings. We are already well-staffed in Clinical and Developmental Psychology. The successful candidate should have an active research program and be able to mentor undergraduate student researchers. The candidate will teach a foundation course in Introductory Psychology, a course in Research Methodology, and Cultural or Community Psychology as well as a core, elective, and/or advanced seminar course in their area of scholarly expertise.
As part of a full teaching load, the candidate will also occasionally contribute to Middlebury’s First Year Seminar Program and Winter Term course offerings. All faculty at Middlebury are also expected to contribute to service to the College including, but not limited to, committee membership and serving as Director or Chair of a Program or Department when asked. This is a full time, benefits eligible, salaried position with a hiring range of $88,963 – $100,129 per year.
