Why did you choose to attend Middlebury? Having come from a large public high school in New York City of about 8,000 students, I was really looking for a much smaller, more intimate learning environment when applying to college. Academically speaking, I was looking for more individualized attention from professors, smaller class sizes, but more importantly, an institution that would support and encourage my passions for animals and veterinary science, music, and language. Throughout my entire college application process, I was so unsure of how these would manifest themselves in my undergraduate curriculum until I came across Middlebury. Middlebury really encourages its students to embrace the liberal arts and sciences – to dive deeper into current passions but also explore broadly to develop new passions. I was looking for this exact type of environment – a strong sense of community both in and out of the classroom. Everyone at Middlebury wants you to succeed. Altogether, this just seemed like the perfect natural progression from high school to college.
