Ron Mordechai Makleff is a historian, teacher, activist, and community archivist. Trained at UC Berkeley in the history of early modern and medieval Europe, he also teaches about communal thought, insurgent literacy, Victorian medievalism, colonial encounters, book history, the history of informaiton, and the origins of the state.
He is currently working on his first book, Fragile Sovereignties: Archives, Insurgents, and the Politics of Legitimacy in the Low Countries, 1323-1669.
