Congratulations, Class of 2028, Transfer & Exchange Students! Welcome to Middlebury College’s Fall Orientation Program. We are looking forward to meeting you this coming Fall 2024.

Below, we’ve shared a broad overview of Orientation to help you prepare for your arrival to Middlebury.

When is Move in Day for Fall Arrivals?

  • Move in for fall arrivals is Monday, September 2, 2024. Students should arrive to campus between 9 AM-12 PM. Specific details about the arrival process such as directions, housing assignments, and parking will be shared in August.
  • Students participating in early arrivals programs such as First@Midd with the AFC, International Student Pre Orientation with the ISSS, Introduction to Data, and Fall new student athletes may have an earlier move in date. Please reach out to these offices or your coach for information regarding schedules.
  • All students, including those participating in early arrival programs, will participate in Orientation, which also begins on Monday, September 2, 2024. Orientation will take place the full week, ending on Sunday, September 8. Classes begin the following Monday, September 9. A detailed schedule will be provided over the summer.

Are there events for Families during Orientation?

  • Programs for Families will take place on Monday, September 2, 2024 and will end by 5:30 PM. Families are encouraged to stay for dinner after family programming has ended.
  • Families who may miss events taking place on September 2 due to their students participation in early arrival programs, will have the opportunity to attend events offered by pre orientation and early arrival programs.  A detailed schedule will be provided over the summer.

When can I expect to hear from Orientation?

  • You can expect regular communication to your Middlebury email address from our Orientation team beginning mid-May. At that time, you’ll begin completing your New Student Onboarding Course. This course will connect you with the necessary tasks you’ll need to complete through the summer prior to arrival, such as those needed for housing assignments, course selection, and more.

Where can I find more answers to questions?
