Phyllis has spent much of her life living and working overseas – first as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Sao Tome e Principe and later with her partner and three children in Senegal, the Philippines, and Uzbekistan. She has had a diverse career – from admissions at the International School of Dakar and Gender Program Manager for the U.S. Embassy in Manila to an Abt Associates project, Investing in Women, which improved workplace gender equality in Myanmar, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines. This experience contributes to her work with Schools Abroad Directors managing the proposal, budget, and reporting process as they develop and implement Conflict Transformation projects around the world. She earned her B.A. from Louisiana State University (Political Science and Spanish) and her M.P.A. from New York University (Public Policy). As an undergraduate, she studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain.
