Associate Professor and writer. Mar Gómez Glez was born in Madrid where she got her B.A. in Sociology from Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca and in Journalism from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid where she also got a M.A. in Literature Theory. She later received a Ph.D. in Hispanic Studies from New York University. She has taught courses in Spanish Language, Literature, and Culture at different institutions in the United States, such as at University of Southern California and Bard College. Since 2019 she has been teaching at different abroad programs in Madrid. Her research interest include literature, cultural and performance studies. She is the author of several books of fiction and non-fiction such us Sangre. Historia íntima y cultural de un fluir constante (2025) or Una pareja feliz (2021). She is also a playwright and her plays have been produced internationally, her play Cifras, is currently being performed in Rumania. She also collaborates with the Spanish newspaper El País.
