Ting-Yun Chiu 邱亭昀

Ting-Yun Chiu holds a B.A. in Chinese Literature from National Tsing Hua University and an M.A. in Education from National Cheng Kung University. She has taught in intensive and immersive Chinese language programs, including the U.S. Department of State’s Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program, and joined Middlebury in Taiwan in 2025.

At Middlebury in Taiwan, Ting-Yun teaches Discover Kaohsiung, One-on-one tutorials, and Picture Books & Contemporary Issues. She is particularly interested in using picture books and literature to engage students with contemporary issues and current events, while encouraging them to discover the richness and unexpected dimensions of Chinese language and culture.

Outside the classroom, Ting-Yun enjoys jigsaw puzzles and suspenseful horror novels—sometimes late into the night. She began learning mahjong at the age of seven and remains an enthusiastic player today.
