Language Tables

Starting Monday, September 18th at 12:40 pm in Redfield Proctor. Attending tables is required for some courses, but all are welcomed to attend to gather for lunch in language!  Sign-up will open on September 16th and is required to attend.

2023 Award Winners

The French and Francophone Studies department is delighted to award this year’s Stephen A. Freeman Prize for excellence in the study of French to Charice Lawrence.

And for the second time, the French and Francophone Studies department is delighted to award this year’s Joseph Hamblet MA’64 prize to Vera Rousseff.

    

Welcome to our new Professor and Teaching Assistant!

We welcome new professor Therese Banks and our new teaching assistant Jennilyn Leroy to our community. 


Therese holds a Ph.D. in French from Harvard University.  Her research focuses on representations of religious violence in medieval and early modern French Literature, particularly around the Crusades and the French Wars of Religion.

Jennilyn is from Poitiers, France and has a Bachelor’s degree in English Studies and is working towards a Master’s degree in French as a Foreign Language. You’ll see Jennilyn at the language tables regularly.
