Carlos Vela

Professor Vela has a Ph.D. in Spanish Literature from SUNY at Stony Brook.  He also has an M.A. in Peninsular Literature from the same institution and a B.A. in Art History from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.  He directs the University at Albany Program in Madrid and is the President of APUNE (Asociación de Programas Universitarios Norteamericanos en España).  His research interests include Cultural Studies, multidisciplinary approaches to Spanish Culture and Psychoanalysis applied to Humanities.
