Professor Francisco Seijo has a Ph.D. in Political Science from Columbia University and is an expert in global environmental politics. He teaches in the Instituto de Empresa’s School of Global and Public Affairs and various North American study abroad programs in Madrid, Spain. His research specifically focuses on the human dimension of landscape fires in Mediterranean type forest ecosystems and their impact on global environmental change. Dr. Seijo has also collaborated with Spanish and international governmental organizations as a development consultant and participated in the ongoing environmental public debate in Spain and Europe through opinion pieces in El Correo, Publico and Cadena SER as well as the Green European Journal. In addition to his academic activity, professor Seijo is currently serving as Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Association for Fire Ecology.
