Professor Mercedes Gil has a Ph.D. in Spanish Languages and Literature Education from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She also has a B.A. from the same institution, and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from the Universidad Nebrija. She has been teaching at Middlebury College in Spain since 2000, and has also taught at the Universidad Nebrija, the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and the Instituto Cervantes in Madrid. She is a passionate reader of creative texts and very fond of almost all kinds of music.
