Soukaina Alaoui has worked in the Middlebury Program in Morocco since 2017 as a teacher of Moroccan dialect, linguistics, and Arabic literature, in addition to leading several linguistic and cultural activities for the program. She has also taught at Middlebury’s summer Arabic Language School.

She is a doctoral student at Mohammed V University, specializing in linguistics and Arabic language issues, with a focus on teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. She holds a master’s degree in Arabic language from Moulay Ismail University, and a professional license from the Higher School of Teachers, specializing in methods of teaching Arabic. Soukaina has published several journal articles on the subject of teaching Arabic to non-native speakers.
