COVID-19: Essential Information

Learning Goals

Students completing a major in Black Studies will take courses and pursue projects that will help them develop knowledge and skills that will prepare them to engage effectively in many academic or work settings. These include:  Intensive listening, critical thinking, and effective oral and written expression. They will also learn strategies for working independently and with faculty and peers in group settings.

In their senior work, students will hone these skills and continue developing the discipline necessary for successfully completing an extended project in their chosen area of concentration—which can be utilized many professional settings, whether in profit or non-profit work settings.
