FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
I have tickets, but now I can't go. What should I do?
All ticket sales are final; there is a no return/refund policy. Please feel free to pass your tickets along to a friend who will enjoy the performance—or alert our Box Office if your tickets will go unused at 802-443-MIDD or box_office@middlebury.edu.
I lost my tickets. What should I do?
Please alert the Box Office that your tickets have been lost by calling 802-443-MIDD or emailing box_office@middlebury.edu. If we need to reprint tickets for you, we’ll do so when you arrive for the performance. You will need to stop by the box office within one hour prior to curtain.
The show I want to see is sold out. Is there any way I can still get in?
Maybe! If any tickets for a sold-out show are returned or released, they will go on sale at 10:00 A.M. on the day of the show, on a first-come, first-served basis. We take an in-person wait list, starting one hour prior to sold-out performances. All members of your party must be present to be on the list, and you should be prepared to stay at the performance venue until curtain time.
Can I get a season ticket?
We do not offer a season ticket or subscription. However, Middlebury College subsidizes our ticket prices to make them more affordable to all. Please come to as many individual events as you like!
Where can I go to get a bite to eat before the show?
There are many off-campus options. Here is a helpful list from the Addison County Chamber of Commerce.
How do I find out if a show is cancelled because of the weather?
It’s rare that we cancel performances for the weather—but in that case, you can call our box office at 802-443-MIDD or check this website for details.
I think I left something behind when I was at an arts event. Do you have a lost and found?
Please contact the Mahaney Center for the Arts at 802-443-3168 or cfa@middlebury.edu to inquire about lost items.
How do I know if a performance is ok for my child?
Please contact the Box Office at 802-443-MIDD or box_office@middlebury.edu with questions about show content. As a courtesy to audience members and performers, please use discretion regarding a young child’s ability to sit quietly and enjoy a performance.
For the Hirschfield International Film Series, we regret that we are unable to preview all the films and videos—some may be inappropriate for children. Please use your discretion.
Is there a dress code?
There is no formal dress code for arts events. Many patrons choose to dress up for Performing Arts Series events—but Middlebury students wear a wide array of different clothing styles!
When can I find out what's coming up next season?
Our printed Arts Calendar is typically published in mid-August. Our website is updated frequently from then on.
Who decides what shows to put on?
A variety of faculty, staff, and students choose arts programming every year. The Performing Arts Series Director is Allison Coyne Carroll and each of the six academic departments present performances as well. Ideas come from all over campus!
