While students often report being eager to get back to friends and classes when preparing to return to college life, they are just as likely to report a slight sense of unease.

These seemingly contradictory feelings are perfectly natural. Anytime we encounter a change to our setting or social environment, it’s a disruption that takes time to adjust to.

To help with the transition back to full time study and residential college life, students returning from any type of Leave of Absence are asked to meet with a Student Success Dean to co-create an individualized plan. Formulating short term goals, identifying campus resources that can help students achieve their goals, and scheduling times to check-in about how the semester is going are key components of these meetings. If you are a student returning from a leave of absence, be on the lookout for an email with appointment details with one of our Student Success Deans.

We look forward to welcoming you back to campus!
